The 19th Annual SPCA K9-3K Dog Walk & Woofstock
What:The K9-3K Dog Walk & Woofstock is an annual North Carolina tradition that brings animal lovers together for a fun walk and day of festivities with a very important purpose: Helping the SPCA of Wake County care for thousands of lost, abandoned, abused and unwanted pets, and giving them a second chance at happiness in a forever home. 12:00pm ~ Main Gates Open!

1:30pm ~ GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ Attempt - Most Dog with Bandanas
Join Waste Industries and Kim Janzen, SPCA President and CEO, at the Main Stage as we break a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ . This is our moment to come together and be a force for animals! A volunteer drone camera operator will be flying overhead so we can show our community -- and our state -- how many people care about the fate of homeless pets.
IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT BREAKING THE RECORD:
- The human/dog ratio is 1:1, so if you have multiple dogs, bring friends and family.
- All dogs must be at least 1-year old to participate in breaking the record. Dogs under 1 can still attend the event and participate in the walk.
- You must get a bandana and wristband at the entrance to the "secured area" (just follow the signs)
- You must be with your assigned Record Steward when the clock starts for the 5 minute countdown, or your dog won't be counted in the final number.
2:00pm ~ WALK!
Walk along the Symphony Lake Greenway. Show up and show your support. We are capturing this walk on aerial video!
2:30pm ~ Ruff Races Begin. Enter your pooch in the Waste Industries Ruff Races and find out whose dog is ruffer. Prizes include: bragging rights and a medal for the winner of each size category (Small, Medium, Large) . Enter the ruff race as many times as you want to improve your dogs time.
3:00pm ~ Dog Costume Contest @ Main Stage
Prizes, bragging rights, plus a trophy!
4:00pm ~ Musical Sit Contest Begins @ Main Stage (no registration necessary)
Prizes, bragging rights, plus a trophy!
5:00pm ~ Event comes to a close
What are the Registration fees? Your gift includes the 2018 Dog Walk T-Shirt!
Youth 14 and under: $35
Youth 7 and under: FREE (however, IF your child would like a shirt please register them in the 14 and under category.)
We hope the registration fee will just be a starting point. You can be a successful fundraiser for homeless pets by asking people you know to support what you believe in. Just a little bit of money from a handful of people can really add up! Ask each of your friends or family members for $5 or $10 each and very quickly you become a powerful fundraiser for the animals.

What are we asking you to do to help the animals?
We are asking you to be both an advocate AND a fundraiser for the animals. Once you register you will have the option of setting up your own personal web page. We need you to tell your story. In fact, the event's success depends on you sharing why you care, with people in your network.
Why do YOU care about animals and care enough to personally engage in the worthy cause of helping them. Your reasons matter, your story matters. You can be an advocate by writing your personal story -- why your pet means something to you, why this cause is close to your heart, and then let all your friends, family and coworkers know that you have this web page with your personal story and ask them for donations to sponsor you in the walk.

It's quick and easy to sign up as an individual walker or to put together a team with family, friends or colleagues. After you register, we will provide you with tools to help you fundraise, including sample email letters that you can send out and your own web page that you can personalize.

Why is my participation so important?
Part of your registration fee and all money that you raise will be used to save animal lives!
The SPCA of Wake County is a local, grassroots animal charity; we do not receive any funding from tax dollars or from national animal organizations. This makes YOUR participation even more important in rescuing these animals.By participating in the K9-3K Dog Walk, you will dramatically impact the lives of thousands of animals in our community, helping us care for animals in need and prevent the suffering of thousands more through prevention efforts.
What did you do with the money raised at the 2017 Dog Walk & Woofstock?
We were able to provide life-saving care to over 3,500 animals in need! PLUS providing spay/neuter surgery for 6,355 pets through the low-cost clinic and voucher program; providing in-home pet food delivery service for 43 pets of disabled or homebound senior citizens and provided 1,064 behavior interventions for pets at-risk of entering area animal shelters.

Just one of the many reasons you'll love this event being at Koka Booth Amphitheatre (KBA)... plenty of FREE PARKING! Below is a map of the main lots to use (overflow parking is available if needed). As you enter Regency Park, KBA staff will direct you into the two parking entrances. Handicap parking spaces are available near the gate entrance. All event attendees please enter through the main event entrance gate (shown below).
