It's hard to believe this is my 15th year at the SPCA. We have grown and changed so much in that time we're hardly the same organization at all. We've got two facilities now instead of just one, and we're making plans to construct a third in the not-too-distant future. We have a low-cost spay/neuter program we were only daydreaming about when I came on board. We've forged new partnerships with shelters and rescues all over the state and we're able to save even more lives because of it. There are now three vehicles in our animal transportation fleet and we're hoping to add at least one more, since the more mobile we are, the more animals we can bring home. 2017 promises to be an exciting year packed with big ideas, new programs, and a continued growth spurt that's showing no sign of stopping.
You've all gotten messages like this from me before, (and you're going to get them again!) The fact is, all this growth and evolution and progress and success is expensive. If we don't have the money we need to keep up the momentum we've built -- well -- we're as good as sunk. But if there's one thing we're sure of, it's that lots of people contributing just a little is the formula for major success. (Isn't that right, Bernie?!) So this year I'm holding out my hat once again, and I'm standing in front of a lot more people. If 150 people donate $10 each, I'll meet my 2017 fundraising goal of $1500 in no time flat. And imagine if 300 people donated! Or why not even 400! As amazing as it seems, just a few dollars at a time, the sky really is the limit.
We've got a vision for the SPCA's future that includes even more growth, and more innovation, and more progress, and more lives saved. We want to make an even bigger difference for homeless pets and we know we can reach for the sky because our donors never, ever let us -- or the animals -- down. So if you don't mind, I'd really appreciate it if you'd click the button and make a small contribution to our cause once again. Thanks so very much! (and wait til you see what's in store in 2017!)
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
